sexual abuse payout at Catholic school

God knows Kobutsu has put a lot of effort into this endeavor. Some people may excoriate his sometimes brash approach. I say, look at the results and applaud.
[N.Y. Daily News] Bergen Catholic High School has agreed to pay $1.9 million to 21 men who say they were molested by 11 teachers during the 1960s and 1970s, but the former student who sparked the settlement talks is not part of the deal because he has refused to take down a website detailing sexual and physical abuse at the school.

Evidently some people thought Pope Francis would be able to reform the fundamental problems of not only the inappropriate sexual behavior that is going on, but the desire to cover it up rather than acknowledge the clergy's misdeeds and to prioritize the safety and well being of the children in the congregation.

I am heartened by the fact that the Daily News has elected to continue to shine light on the facts showing that the Catholic Church is continuing its policy of cover ups.

Pope Francis should travel to Maine to apologize to Kobutsu personally and give him 3 checks one for Kobutsu's pain and suffering, one for Kobutsu's efforts in helping the Church take reports of the sexual abuses seriously, and another to keep that site up in perpetuity as a reminder of one of the deep flaws in the Church stretching back probably shortly after the creation of its clergical system.

  4. I know little about Catholicism to comment about this, but I sure know that there is an awful amount of pornography in Shinto and Buddhist Japan. I had been looking at a young lass Yumeno Nito who was vocal enough to try and protect a couple of girls who were trying to get out of JK businesses i.e. hired teenage sex industry in Tokyo.

It is not that straightforward in Japan, firstly the social status of girls are pretty low, secondly there is still an awful amount of mafia triads actively manufacturing and distributing AVs at the expense of teenage or youth girls, and thirdly simply because historically social roles such as geisha are not alien. The 'good' aspect is that the social status of sex workers in Japan are not that low, so outside of their slave trade they do seem to dress adequately and lead decent, ordinary lives..
