Last night, the 2016 caucuses in Iowa played themselves out. Vast spending, lackluster policy positions, emotive inaccuracies, a media willing to tag along like some younger, please-like-me kid ... endless, endless vapors. And, woven into the swirling dust, was a God which does not, to the best of my knowledge, provide jobs or fix roads or improve education or level the economic playing field.
Cruz was buoyed by evangelical support and thanked God for his win.Ted Cruz, Donald Trump and Marco Rubio claimed the top three Republican slots. Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton were more or less tied on the Democratic side. All of them hope to run for president. All of them make promises they cannot keep. The election takes place in November.
