humanoid robot

As if taking the next most-obvious step after Facebook, the Japanese have developed a humanoid robot that is calibrated to recognize and respond to human emotion. Uses envisioned include care of the elderly. Does anyone else feel, as I do, that this is just another heart-warming advance that serves to sever honest human connections?
