footnote on "belief" and "doubt"

.
If someone were to ask me for a synonym for "belief," I would be inclined to say, "doubt."

And if someone were to ask me for a synonym for "doubt," I would be inclined to say, "belief."

Same stuff, different spelling.

Philosophically, theologically or in other intellectual realms, this subject is pretty dumb -- meaning it could lead to a whole host of beard-stroking reactions.

But for spiritual endeavor purposes -- in the actual-factual, sit-down-and-focus-the-mind practical settings -- I think it is pretty important.

Check it out. See what happens where neither doubt nor belief enter.

It's worth a look, I'd say.
